Onam Fervor at MCA

Onam is a major annual cultural festival of the southern state of Kerala in India, that is today celebrated around the world.

MCA celebrated Onam today at our offices bringing together a multitude of colors, traditions and flavors from across God’s Own Country, Kerala. Welcoming floral carpets (Onapookalam), made of gathered blossoms in intense hues, adorned the office floor in intricate patterns. We were delighted to have all our colleagues and special guests be a part of the Onam celebrations.

The day began on an auspicious note with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the popularly graceful, traditional dance (Kaikottikali) performed by the women in ethnic wear and culminating with a sumptuous lunch. The lunch, also known as the Onam Sadhya, is an elaborate multi-course vegetarian feast served on a banana leaf and it was legendary.

Onam at MCA has been yet another memorable day at work, bringing together all our colleagues and guests from different communities to rejoice and observe this occasion in harmony.
